Festival Gets Great Coverage in Indy Weekly

July 27, 2016

The Festival has attracted the attention of Bryon Woods at Indy Week in his article "Can the Women’s Theatre Festival Fix Local Stages' Longstanding Gender Problem in a Month?" In it, he discusses the mission of the Festival and touches on many of our shows and workshops.  Give it a read!

We are so thrilled with the amount of coverage that the Indy Week has given our new festival! Getting the word out on this level could mean the difference between WTF succeeding wildly or just scraping by.

We would be remiss, however, if we didn't give a shout out to several theatres in the area who have already made great strides in the gender parity arena. For example, we were recently informed that TIP is looking forward to a season where half of the shows are directed by women, and that JTP has an upcoming season where every single show is either directed or co-directed by a woman! There are more than those as well, I'm sure.

Please write in to tell us your success stories! Is your company making gender parity progress? Send your story to info@womenstheatrefestival.com
