Little Women Holiday Tea

The Women's Theatre Festival is hoping that you will join us in making Little Women your new holiday tradition. Playing Dec 8-18 at Sonorous Road Theatre, this festive event will include tea and treats as well as singing, dancing, and merrymaking!. Tickets are on sale now!

Little Women was actually in the works before the results of the election came out but I think the entire production team and cast feel energized to be working on a play that epitomizes feminism, perseverance, and inclusivity. It has been an unbelievably divisive time and we are using the stage as a platform to include all.  The Festival values all people, of all races, colors, religions, orientation, gender identity, and ability.  Little Women exemplifies this not only in the message of the story but also in the makeup of the cast and production team.

Little Women continues to resonate with readers nearly 150 years after being published. The story of the March Family is timeless, capturing the love, joy, heartache, and pain that every family experiences together. This adaptation is concentrated on that connection, not only between family members, but between audience and storyteller as well. Our production is immersive, bringing everyone together to truly experience the warmth and spirit of Louisa May Alcott’s classic.

Little Women is also a tale of survival. It reminds us that love and strength always remain, even in the face of war, change, social unrest, poverty, and loss. We are inspired by the March Family’s commitment to goodness and generosity, even and especially when it gives them no personal benefit. As Aunt March tells us in this production, “Never hesitate. The ship will not wait for us.”  We are the light behind the clouds and now is the time to shine.

The Women's Theatre Festival proudly announces that the entire run of Little Women will be sensory-friendly and accessible to all. Staff will be available to assist any audience members that require special accommodations. Contact Inclusivity Chair Johannah Edwards at johannahmedwards@gmail.com for further information or to make arrangements for an audience member.

We hope you will join us at the Little Women Holiday Tea. Enjoy the show and support diversity and the message of inclusivity. This family-friendly production is appropriate for ages 6 and up. Get your tickets today!
