As I enter my third month as Managing Director for Women’s Theatre Festival, I am brimming with excitement for what’s to come this season….and in total awe of the amazing people who have been busy working behind the scenes to get us off on a great start.
But before I tell you more about those people, I want to talk about YOU. For the past two years, over 400 volunteers, members, artists, technicians, and donors have made this Festival a success and moved the needle forward for gender equity in the arts. This season, we celebrate heroes. YOU, the members of WTF, ARE the heroes!
In the past, membership to WTF meant paying $5 in dues and, in exchange, you got the right to vote on the shows you’d like to see us produce. Our membership team has been reaching out and listening to you. What we’ve heard is that you want more out of your membership--more opportunities for meaningful engagement, more involvement, more connection, more pathways for growth, and more communication.
With our new Tiered Membership Program, we think we’ve got you covered! You’ll still have the option of paying just $5 for your annual dues for voting privileges, but we’ve loaded every level with perks, privileges, and special opportunities! I don’t want to spoil too many surprises, but let me tell you about some of my favorite benefits:
A Members-Only Button that will give you access to discounts, VIP treatment, and surprises throughout the year
A monthly Members-Only Newsletter AND a monthly Members Event (think parties, workshops, networking opportunities, and Facebook Live events with arts leaders from around the country)
And….for the first time ever….WTF will be offering a SEASON TICKET SUBSCRIPTION….and it will ONLY be available to Members!!!!
We plan to launch the Membership Program online on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 (Update: Here is the link!), but you can learn more about it live and in person at the Live Pitch Event happening on Sunday, March 11 from 4-6 pm at IMURJ. There you will be the first to see and hear the directors who are pitching for WTF this season and learn about ways to get involved this season.
Until then, I’d love to hear from you! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, find me on Facebook, and let me know what matters to you, what you’re working on, and what you see in store for WTF’s future!
In Part 2 of this series, I will introduce you to some of the folx who have already been hard at work prepping for WTF 2018!
